All steel heavy duty construction: Every SHD70 Series ramp is constructed from steel and undergoes a complete stress analysis to ensure structural integrity and superior operational safety. All ramps exceed a 2:1 load rating safety factor — minimum.
Heavy duty side guard rails: Built-in side guard rails run the full length of the ramp to prevent equipment from driving off the edge. Guard rails range from 8″ to 18″+ high depending on the equipment being loaded. Custom heights available.
Anti-slip deck surface: The full length of the ramp deck features an anti-slip surface, providing superior traction for safer operation in all conditions.
Dual speed leveling jacks: Dual speed leveling jacks allow operators to quickly and precisely set the ramp to trailer or dock height. Fully supported and strategically positioned to maximize ramp stability and operator safety.
The upper 10 Foot Upper Level-Off section allows the lift truck operator to exit the trailer in the fully horizontal position prior to backing down the ramp. This feature helps maximize load stability and operator safety. The 10 feet level-off section allows the lift truck and a pallet sized load to be clear of the trailer preventing the load from scraping the top of the trailer prior to descent.
The lip plate is attached with a full width seamless hinge and over laps onto the bed of the trailer allowing for a safe transition from the ramp to the truck. Ramps with a width of 102” or wider come equipped with Adapt-A-Ramps four piece hinged lip plate. This design will enable you the flexibility of accessing flatbed and dry van trailers along with containers.
The safety of the operator is a number one concern, so we prefer to over-build our products and not cut any corners on design. Our Portable Yard Ramp Engineers build in a safety factor of at least 2 to 1, giving you the assurance that our ramps are built tough and will stand up to the job. Our load capacity and safety factor calculations are based on a realistic “4 point wheel load pattern on the ramp”, not a “broad area of the ramp deck”.
